Welcome to The Gem Shop, Inc. Gallery of polished agates and jaspers. Pictured below are
some of the world's finest agates and jaspers. None of the items below are for sale
by The Gem Shop, Inc. They are all in private collections. Sometimes a
collector can be persuaded to sell a certain item but it is not our purpose here to offer
anything for sale.
Information and pictures are presented here with the owner's
permission. Some photos are shown with more visual information and greater download
times may be necessary. Photo submissions of exceptional agates and jaspers are encouraged
for inclusion in this gallery. To find out about where some of these rocks come from, be sure to look at
the mining page.
Pages 1 and 2 are the main lobby of our gallery and contain images of
recent additions or items of special interest. Special exhibits may be held here from time
to time. Doors to the exhibit rooms are at the far end of the lobby.

Mexican
Agates
from the State of Chihuahua

| Agua Nueva Agate from the
nodular agate deposit on the Agua Nueva Ranch, mined by The Gem Shop in the spring of 2000. This specimen
exhibits high contrasting black and white banding within the pink agate,
which is surrounded by green and gold moss agate. This agate weighs
3.75 lbs and measures about 7" x 3.5". It is owned by an anonymous
collector. |

| El Conejeros mine produced this Laguna Agate in the
late 1990s. It is about 4" across. This agate was featured in the 2002
Calendar of Fine Agates and Jaspers, produced by The Gem Shop. Eugene
Mueller owns this specimen. |

| A large Coyamito Agate from Area
4 on the Coyamito Ranch that was mined by The Gem Shop in March 2004. It's
size is 3.75" x 3.75" and it weighs 2 lbs. 5 oz. Note the strong chromatic
color change from yellow to red to purple. This piece is in the collection
of Brian Thurston. |

| There are at least 5 agate
deposits on the Gregoria Ranch. This ranch lies west of the Agua Nueva
Ranch. One of these deposits produces small purple and white agates. Most
of the agate mined on the Gregoria Ranch was sold as Coyamito. This
specimen is in the collection of Eugene Mueller. |

Moctezuma Agate is found about 50 miles north of the
Laguna Agate area. This specimen show 3 escape channels and is a little
over 3" across. From the collection of Eugene Mueller. |

This fantastic Laguna Agate pair came from the "Point of the
Beautiful Ones" on the La Alianza claim. Each half measures about 2" tall.
