     Agua Nueva Nodular Agate

Currently Not Available

The nodular deposit of Agua Nueva Agate from Chihuahua, Mexico has been mined two times by The Gem Shop, Inc. The cabs shown here are from the spring of 2000 mining operation. It is a banded agate that has been sold in the past as "New Laguna Agate", even though it came from the Agua Nueva Ranch. The nodules can be quite large and typically will have a highly contrasting pattern of a black (or very dark green) band next to a yellow or white band.  See more examples of Agua Nueva Agate below that were featured in June of 1999.                             Back
