The
rock from which these beautiful cabochons were cut was mined on the eastern slope of the
Owyhee River canyon in southeastern Oregon. The Morrison Ranch Jasper area has several
mining locations -- see the mining page for more info on the
mining operations. The cabs shown here are from the Christine Marie claim, Big Hole dig.
All the Christine Marie cabs show the typical "egg pattern" and may include
several colors such as gold, brown, tan, blue-green, pink, peach, and red.
