Natural Druzy Agate

The term "druzy" refers to a fine layer of miniature crystals filling a cavity or coating a matrix. These examples of our recent production are quartz druzy with agate.
The cutting of these cabochons begins with a rough Brazilian agate geode. After removing the outer layers of agate, the inner cavity with the druzy is revealed. These pieces are then cut so that a thin layer is left with the druzy crystals appearing on the top. The agate portion on the top of each piece is then shaped, sanded and polished.
