New! Bond-Optic Epoxy

Bond-Optic is
a water-clear, non-yellowing, two-part epoxy. Bond-Optic was designed
especially for lapidary use in stabilizing delicate materials, intarsia
work, laminating stone or glass, or filling and strengthening fractures
in all types of gemstones. It can also be used on porcelain, glass,
metal, wood and much more. Bond-Optic can be colored, or filled to match
the material it is being used on.
This epoxy
was designed with two goals in mind. One, to have a low viscosity in
order to be able to fill very fine cracks. Two, to be absolutely clear
and remain clear regardless of age. This product was tested under high
intensity UV light to simulate 20 years of age. After testing,
discoloration was not detectable to the naked eye. This product was
designed to match the quality found in high priced epoxys like Hxtal.
12oz. Bond-Optic Epoxy kit
$60.00
Includes:
- 8 oz Epoxy Resin
- 4 oz Epoxy Hardener
- 5 1oz graduated mixing
cups

|
Bond-Optic Epoxy is ideal for archeological and
restoration work as well.
Instructions:
Bond-Optic Epoxy is mixed by weighing 2 parts of resin
to 1 part of hardener (2:1). Mixing the epoxy
thoroughly is essential. Bond-Optic can be
measured using graduated mixing cups or by weight.
Altering the mixing ratio will result in the epoxy not
reaching full hardness. Additional Graduated measuring
cups are available.
Bond-Optic fully cures in approximately 4-7 days at room
temperature. Raising the temperature to 85-100 degrees
Fahrenheit for 12 hours can cut the full cure time to
approximately 1 to 2 days. Raising the temperature of
the article being treated to 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit
prior to applying Bond-Optic will further reduce cure
time. Raising the temperature of mixed Bond-Optic to
120-130 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes prior to
use will decrease curing time to as short as 5 to 8
hours. When heating mixed Bond-Optic, stir the mixture
throughout the heating process. Glass rods work well for
this. It is best to heat the epoxy slowly and evenly.

BD-297
Standard Notched Rim Diamond Blades |
| "Barranca's
lapidary diamond blades are manufactured ...in the United States.
They are made from mechanically notched carbon steel (1045) cores. As
the outer circumference of the blade does all the cutting there is
minimum side clearance abrasion. This minimizes marks on the cut
material, premature segment wear, and core overheating. BD-297 notched
rim blades are for use with oil coolants only. " from the
